• The opener clicks but the motor doesn’t run. This usually means the board’s relay has burned contacts. The relay sends power to the motor, and when it fails, you hear the click of the logic circuit but nothing moves. We see this most on Craftsman units in Lakeway’s unconditioned garages where summer heat cycles the relay thousands of times per year.
• The remote works intermittently or not at all, but the wall button works fine. The radio receiver circuit lives on the logic board, and when it degrades, the remote signal gets lost while the hardwired wall button still commands the board directly. Range shrinks gradually until it quits entirely.
• The opener runs the wrong direction or doesn’t stop at the limits. The limit switch logic and direction relays both reside on the board.
