Signs Your Raynor Opener Logic Board Is Failing

• Remote works intermittently, wall button works fine. This usually means the radio receiver portion of the logic board is degrading. The hardwired wall button bypasses the RF circuitry entirely, so it keeps working while remotes become unreliable.
• Opener light blinks twice or five times, door won’t close. The safety sensor circuit runs through the logic board. A failing board misreads the sensor signal even when sensors are aligned and clean. We see this often in Lakeway’s Rough Hollow area on builder-installed units from the mid-2000s.
• Motor runs but door doesn’t move, or moves a few inches and stops. The relay that switches power to the drive motor can develop burned contacts. The motor gets partial voltage or none at all, even though the board “thinks” it’s sending the command.
• Opener activates on its own or at odd hours. A logic board with damaged traces from power surges can send false start signals. This is more than annoying; it’s a security concern for attached garages.
• Complete deadness: no light, no response to any button. The transformer or primary power regulation on the board has failed. Sometimes it’s the board, sometimes it’s the capacitor that feeds it. We test both before replacing anything.
